Kurri Contracting Service (KCS) is an Australian Disability Enterprise part funded by the Commonwealth Department of Family, Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and auspiced by Kurri Kurri Community Centre Inc.
KCS provides employment and support to people with disabilities who;-
Are 16 years of age or older
Live in the Cessnock or Maitland Local Government Areas
Because of their disability require a level of training and support in order to gain and maintain employment
Are physically capable of performing the job
Have the ability and willingness to behave in a manner appropriate to our work environment
Are in receipt of a Disability Support Pension and/or assessed by Centrelink as being eligible to receive our service
KCS includes among its customers such businesses as:- Orica Explosives, Cessnock City Council, Hunter Water Corporation, Austar Coal Mine Pty Ltd.
Our work includes:- commercial grounds maintenance, commercial cleaning, and roadside litter reduction.
Employee wages are paid according to the Kurri Contracting Service Workplace Agreement and are determined using an assessment tool which measures skills and productivity.
KCS has an active Social Club with regular outings including fishing, camping, bike rides, trips to major events (eg World Series Cricket one day matches), etc.

Our Mission is, "to operate a Service aimed at increasing employment options and life skills for people with disabilities by providing the community with a professional contract service through the ongoing training and support of our employees".
